Amar Ceramic Journey

Our Journey Through Time

From Humble Beginnings to a Trusted Refractory Manufacturing Partner

Foundation of Amar Ceramic Industries with DD Kiln Technology

Amar Ceramic Industries was established in 1981 in Wankaner, Gujarat, beginning its refractory manufacturing journey with a Stand Down Draft (DD) kiln. Initial production capacity was approximately 1,000 tons per annum, focused on manufacturing fire bricks for iron, steel, and local process industries. The DD kiln allowed controlled firing and laid the foundation for understanding high-temperature ceramic behavior.

From the outset, ACI emphasized raw material selection, firing discipline, and product consistency. Operating with limited resources but strong technical intent, the company built early expertise in refractory manufacturing, kiln operations, and application-specific performance, forming the backbone of its long-term growth.

Formation of Amar Minerals

In 1998, Amar Ceramic Industries took a strategic step forward by establishing Amar Minerals, a dedicated unit for strategic sourcing of refractory raw materials, including bauxite and other key minerals. This backward integration strengthened control over raw material quality, chemical consistency, and long-term availability.

Strategic sourcing enabled ACI to reduce dependency on external suppliers, stabilize production inputs, and improve overall refractory performance. This move significantly enhanced quality assurance, cost efficiency, and supply reliability, supporting the company’s expanding customer base across multiple industrial sectors.

Major Expansion & Tunnel Kiln Installation

The year 2005 marked a major turning point in ACI’s manufacturing capabilities with a large-scale expansion and installation of an advanced tunnel kiln. This upgrade increased total production capacity to approximately 12,000 tons per annum, significantly improving firing uniformity, thermal efficiency, and product consistency.

The transition from traditional kilns to advanced tunnel kiln technology enabled higher volumes, better process control, and consistent refractory properties. This expansion positioned ACI as a competitive and reliable refractory manufacturer capable of serving large steel, cement, and process industry clients.

Entry into Monolithic Refractories

In 2010, ACI expanded its product portfolio to include monolithic refractories such as castables, mortars, ramming, and gunning masses. This move addressed the growing industry demand for joint-free linings and faster installation solutions.

By offering both shaped and monolithic refractories, ACI strengthened its position as a comprehensive refractory solution provider for diverse industrial applications.
